'Amazing
Tour' for U of T Students Visiting Hong Kong
|
|
1:30 - 6:30 p.m., Sunday, June 14
Later
today (Friday, June 12), 300 University of Toronto students will
arrive in Hong Kong for the month-long U of T Summer Abroad Program.
First launched at the time of the handover in 1997, the program
has now allowed more than 1800 students to explore Hong Kong while
earning degree credit. Many students are making their first visit
to Asia, thanks to financial support from the Dr. Stanley Ho Scholarships
and Dr. Sam & Dr. Doris Lau Scholarships.
To
help the students gain a proper introduction to Hong Kong, alumni
volunteers have organized a half-day city tour on Sunday, June
14. The twist? The tour has elements from the Amazing Race TV
show, giving a fun and interactive way to explore the city.
More
alumni volunteers are needed, so if you feel like introducing
your city to a small group of students from Toronto, contact Michelle
Poon at michelle.poon@utoronto.com.hk
or at tel. 2375-8258.
