What
makes a successful applicant?
Successful
applicants in the past have shown strong academic results,
personal initiatives & community leadership, and
a genuine interest in living abroad.
|
|
What
is "financial need"?
The Hong Kong Scholarships are intended for students
who do not have the family financial resources to study
outside of Hong Kong. However, the scholarships cover
only a portion of the full cost of study at the University
of Toronto. Applicants must be able to pay for the balance
of education costs.
For
reference, the total 2011/2012 education costs (tuition,
residence, meals, books, local transport, health insurance
and other expenses) at the University of Toronto were
estimated at C$40,000 to $46,000 depending on program
and residence. Full details at: Cost
of Living.
